Library API Terms of Use
These terms apply to the AdventAI library API and MCP server. By creating an API key or using the API, you agree to them.
Last updated: 16 October 2026
1. Access and API keys
You need an AdventAI account and an API key to use the API. Keep your key private and do not share it or publish it. You are responsible for all use of your keys.
Every plan can use the API. What a key reaches depends on the plan of the account it belongs to. Every plan, including Seeker, the free plan, has library search, authors, collections, the dictionary, the whole Bible, and Bible World image search. Believer and up adds reading works in full, Bible commentary, music (searching and downloading), and creating images and character sets. Disciple and Ambassador have higher limits. The API documentation marks each feature.
Creating images spends the image credits on your account.
2. Fair use and limits
Each plan has a number of calls a day for the whole account, across all its keys, and rate limits. Both are listed in the API documentation. Do not try to get around them, for example by using several accounts or keys for one application.
AdventAI may limit, suspend or revoke access for anyone whose use is excessive or degrades the service for other users, including bulk downloading or scraping of the library. We may do this without notice where needed to protect the service.
3. Permitted use
You may use the API to search, read and quote the library in your own apps, research, study and AI agents, including within commercial products, as long as you follow these terms.
Show clearly that content comes from the AdventAI library, and link back to the source page where you can.
4. Restrictions
Do not use the API to build or offer a product or service that competes with AdventAI, such as a substitute library, search service or reader for this content.
Do not copy, store or redistribute a substantial part of the library, or build a dataset from it, including for training AI models, without our written permission. Short-term caching to make your app work well is allowed.
Do not use the API for anything unlawful, or to misrepresent the content or suggest that AdventAI endorses you or your product.
Do not try to disrupt the service, probe it for weaknesses, or access anything the API does not offer.
5. Content
Library content comes from historical sources and is provided for reference. Transcriptions and search results are produced with the help of automated tools and may contain errors, so check important quotations against the original pages.
Some works may be subject to the rights of others. You are responsible for making sure your use of the content is lawful.
6. Changes to the API and these terms
The API is in beta. AdventAI may change, limit or stop the API, or any part of it, at any time, including what each plan reaches and its limits. We may update these terms; continuing to use the API after an update means you accept the new terms.
7. No warranty and limitation of liability
The API is provided as is and as available, without any warranty. To the extent the law allows, AdventAI is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the API or its content, or from it being unavailable.
8. Ending use
You can stop using the API and revoke your keys at any time. If your access ends, stop using the API and delete any library content you stored beyond short-term caching.
These terms add to the AdventAI Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which also apply.
