"I'll Risk It."

So said a lady, after the claims of the fourth commandment had been presented. Said she, "If we only keep the Sabbath we have always kept holy to the Lord, I'll risk but what we shall come out right." Raising her voice, said she, "I'll risk it! I'll risk it!! I'LL RISK IT!!!"
Saying that we will risk a thing, implies that there is some risk in it, which we however determine to brave. I have heard a great many discourses given to prove that every one ought to keep the first day of the week, or, at least, that it would do just as well as to keep the seventh, but I never thought of saying I would risk it to keep the seventh day; for I saw no danger in that direction. But in regard to keeping the first day in its stead, my language always was, I dare not risk it. R. F. C.
