Doing Business With the Office.

1. REMEMBER that the business may be attended to by one who is a stranger to you, who does not know your residence. Give all the information necessary to a complete understanding of the business in hand. 2. In sending the name of a new subscriber, say, "Send the Signs," &c., and place the amount of money sent, if any, opposite the name. If money is sent for a paper already sent, say "credit to" the name. 3. If money is sent by or for any one, to be credited on papers sent to other persons, be sure to tell where and to whom they are sent, otherwise the business will not be correctly done. We lately received an order to credit a certain sum to a certain person. Not finding the name we entered it on the books and gave the credit. Afterward we were informed that the money was to apply on papers sent to other persons, but we are not informed who those persons are, and of course there is no credit on the papers sent to those persons, and they are liable to be stopped. We trust all will understand this, and see the necessity of doing business accurately. We are anxious that no mistakes shall occur.
