The Faithful Shepherd

A. L. HOLLENBECK
Many a lamb has gone astray Far down in the gloaming dim; But the Shepherd calls it back by name, And his own returns to him.
And away on the cold and dreary moor He gives them the best of care; And up on the rough and steep hillside We find him guarding them there.
And he looks on the lonely, straying sheep In the great world-pastures here, And calls them to come unto him and be saved, For the world's dark night is near.
And the “little flock” hear the warning call, E’en now they are almost home; See them gath’ring close to their Shepherd’s side, Nevermore again to roam.
