Missionaries Delayed by Treasury Shortfall

THE readers of the REVIEW may have noticed that no departure of missionaries has been chronicled on this last page for several weeks. This is because the Mission Board is compelled to detain volunteers under appointment until the treasury can catch up a little. One sister wrote in last week that she had in her heart resolved to provide $100 during 1910 to send a worker into the unwarned interior of China. She would like to go to China; but as she can not, she takes this way to make up the lack. Such secret plans as these serve to encourage the Board in its struggles to answer the many calls coming in from the different fields.
