What Does It Matter?

PEARL WAGGONER
What does it matter how dark the way, If ’tis light at the journey’s end? What does it matter how long to-day, If one travels to meet a Friend?
What does it matter how long the road, If it leads to our home at length? What does it matter how great the load, If we’re given the needed strength?
What does it matter if tired the feet, Or if weary the heart and mind, If comfort and rest and a welcome sweet At the end of the way we find?
What does it matter, then, where we dwell, Or if sunny the sky, or drear? For, if He guideth us, all is well: And the end of the way is near.
