The Generation That Shall Not Pass

N. J. Lucas. We think Matt. x. 23, refers to the manifestation of Christ as the promised Messiah to the Jewish people, the heralds of whose approach the apostles were sent forth to be. Then he came to his own, and his own received him not. John i, 11. A later time is referred to in Matt. xxiv, 34; a time after the signs in the sun moon and stars have been fulfilled; and the generation mentioned, we believe to be the present one, who hear the proclamation, based partly upon these signs of the near coming of the Son of Man. This generation shall not pass till the event in all its grandeur and glory shall be witnessed.
