Character and Obedience to God’s Law

THE highest standard of character is exhibited in obedience to the commandments of God. This is the revelation of divinity in humanity, and can be attained only through faith in the grace and power of the risen Saviour. “Blessed are they that are perfect in the way, who walk in the law of Jehovah. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, that seek him with the whole heart. Yea, they do no unrighteousness; they walk in his ways.” “The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul.” It is a glorious truth that God’s law is unchangeable. Complete conformity to the will of God, as expressed in his law, is the acceptable preparation for a home in the heavenly Jerusalem. “Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.” There is nothing so valuable as character, and there is no character so valuable as the character of Christ,—a free gift to all who choose it above all other things. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.”
