Nations Preparing for Armageddon

We note elsewhere the biggest ship afloat; but this is by no means the limit of what will soon be. The English will soon launch a new super-dreadnought, King George V. It is England's twenty-second war-ship of the dreadnought class, and the seventh of the superdreadnought species. This, however, is not as big as the Brazilian ship. The United States has under construction four battleships,—the New York, the Texas, the Nevada, and the Oklahoma,—each of about 27,500 tons displacement; but the Pennsylvania is to be a ship of 31,500 tons; and its armament will include twelve 14-inch guns. And so the nations are preparing for Armageddon.
