OBSERVANCE OF THE SABBATH.

I had supposed that there had been enough said in regard to the proper observance of the Sabbath, that all who read the Review might be well informed as to its obligations and its duties; but notwithstanding all that has been said, there are some who still engage in worldly conversation on that day. I have heard those professing to be Sabbath-keepers, even while on their way to meeting, conversing about worldly matters.
Now when things of a worldly nature come into our minds, let us stop and consider well the language of the prophet, Isa. lviii, where he says, “If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath,” &c., “not doing thine own ways, nor speaking thine own words, then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord.” Then let us lay aside, on the Sabbath day, everything of a worldly nature, and worship God only. For the end is at hand, and we need a full consecration to God and his work.
