A Comparison.

ONE day we had been removing our stove to our summer kitchen, when a friend called to see our family. We at once began to make excuses for the soiled state of our hands and the sad predicament of our house.
When our friend had gone we made the following moral application of the incident: We are professed children of God, preparing for the glorious appearing of our blessed Saviour. When he comes shall our hands be soiled with evil deeds, our beautiful garments (of righteousness) blackened by contact with this baneful world? Or shall we set our house in order, that when Jesus shall appear, he shall find us “without spot or wrinkle or any such thing.” Help, Lord, or we perish!
