The Summary

In view of the unsettled conditions and the financial strain which the European war has brought upon so many countries, we are glad to be able to send out such a good summary for the first month of the new year. The total value of book sales shows a falling off of nearly $13,000 from the corresponding month last year. The foreign periodicals likewise show quite a loss. There is also a falling off in the sale of our magazines. But under the circumstances, we believe that the readers of the REVIEW will rejoice with us that our colporteurs have done so well in the face of the present difficulties. In the homeland seven of the twelve unions show a gain over January of last year. The reports from North America would doubtless have been greater had it not been for the convention that was held in Nashville during the first part of January. The leaders in the field are sounding a note of courage all along the line, and are expecting that 1915 will be a year of good progress in this branch of our work. N. Z. Town.
