Profitable Hearing

The profitable hearer is he who expects to hear a message from God to his own soul, and who trembles at the word of the Lord. Such an auditor listens for himself, and not for others, and with his heart open to receive reproof he finds that all is sent in love, and that even the rebuke of the Lord is to him the testimony of sonship. His motto is, “I will hear what God the Lord will speak.” Such hearing will reveal definite results in the life. “He that receiveth seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.” “Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your heart.”
