Mount Vernon College, Academia, Ohio
By N. W. Lawrence
Our school has opened with about the same attendance as last year, practically one hundred. The school work has never progressed more easily and effectually during the first month than this year. New students are arriving on an average of three or four a week, and the outlook is very encouraging in every way. We have five new members on our faculty this year, all of whom are giving good satisfaction, and seem to be enjoying their work very much; two of these are in addition to our last year's force, taking up the special departments of art and sewing. The sewing department is particularly meeting with a hearty reception, and a co-operation that means much for this work in the school. An excellent spirit prevails on every hand, and a pleasant and prosperous school year is indicated.
