Dedicating Ourselves to God
DEDICATIONS.—Some half a dozen houses of worship among our people in this State are to be dedicated within a few weeks’ time. This is all very well. But we should remember that while the Bible says little bearing upon the subject of dedicating meeting-houses, it does say much relative to the dedication of ourselves to the service of God. He cannot accept our offering while we withhold our hearts from him. Before all other gifts to the cause of Christ, let us give ourselves to him. Our gifts will be accepted when we give our hearts also. The dedication of ourselves is our first business, and with that offering all other things we have are surrendered to him. Let all our friends who are about to dedicate meeting-houses to God, prepare for this work by first dedicating themselves to him.
