AN Eastern paper has a well-expressed condemnation of the custom of getting up sensational subjects for sermons. It has been suggested, as a remedy, that the publishing of subjects in the daily papers be discontinued. But the only remedy is to reform the ministry, and convert them to trying to please the Divine Master instead of pleasing the ears of vain men. Though Moody's sermon on the "Lesson of Lot" is mentioned among the proscribed ones, the Lesson is so good we have presented it to our readers, for which we believe they will be thankful.
