HOP BITTERS.

By Editor

We have noticed the advertisement of these bitters in several religious and temperance papers, they having received it under the assurance that the bitters contained no alcohol. The State Assayer of Massachusetts says a sample analyzed by him contained over 14 per cent. alcohol by weight, and 18 per cent. by volume. This is more alcoholic than strong wine. Beware of bitters.
