OUR Harvest Ingathering has not been quite so successful this year as it was last, and yet we are expecting more funds to come in. We have already received $929.33. I am not able to estimate the amount that we shall yet receive. Doubtless it will exceed one thousand dollars. Our annual offering up to date is $908.57. There will be some more added to this.
I am happy to report that we have secured the services of Brother W. D. Forde, a colored minister from Barbados, to take up work among that people in Chicago. We are expecting the Lord to greatly bless his work. The members in the church where he will serve are quite full of courage, and we hope to see a large work done among this people soon. We are making a special effort to provide a good meeting-house for them as soon as possible. A special offering is to be taken up in every church in the Lake Union Conference on Sabbath, March 19, to assist in building this meeting-house. It will probably cost several thousand dollars, but we are sure that it will be money well invested. Our courage in the Lord's work is good.
Wm. COVERT.
