TACUBAYA.—I have recently received an encouraging letter from Gomez Palacio, State of Durango, which Elder Leland and I visited last summer. One subscriber whom Brother Leland secured writes (the following is a free translation): “We give thanks for the explanations, so true, which we have seen in your valuable periodical, and I offer myself to the work of your church, because as soon as I learned these good counsels, I made a vow to keep the Lord’s holy day, because I do not wish to please men, but God alone, and hope that the Holy Spirit will illuminate your understanding, in order that many souls may triumph.”
Another man in the State of Michoacan sends us seven names for the paper, and tells us how he enjoys it. Dr. Erkenbeck writes me that the man who accepted the truth last year at the sanitarium is there again on a visit, and that he is still faithful, and expects in a few months to dissolve his partnership, so that he will not be connected with those who do not keep the Sabbath.
I shall have more to write presently. Sabbath was a good day for us here in Mexico City. We had quarterly meeting, the first in which the recently added members had taken part.
