Cedar Lake Academy

THE winter term of the Cedar Lake Industrial Academy closes the last Friday in March. It has been thought advisable not to take a vacation at that time, but to begin the spring term the following Monday morning. At a recent session of the school board it was voted to hold a spring term, and arrangements have been made to carry on the regular class work of the school together with a large amount of outside work. During this spring term we shall be able to furnish more work than we are able to during the fall and winter terms. Students who are willing to work, and are able to go ahead with jobs at which they are set, can nearly pay their way by work during this term. This applies only to those who are old enough and strong enough to do hard outside manual labor. We shall be glad to have immediate word from all who would like to avail themselves of the opportunity to pay their way through school by their work. Only two regular lines of manual work will be carried on during the spring term; namely, carpentry and farm work, which will include fruit culture.
During the summer we shall be able to employ several young men who desire to earn wages, a large portion of which they are willing to pay for schooling the following terms; For labor during the summer such wages will be paid as the students actually earn, and a reasonable proportion of these wages will be paid in cash. We shall be glad to hear from any interested students. J. G. LAMSON, Principal.
