LOOK HEAVENWARD.

By Mrs. P. Alderman

MRS. P. ALDERMAN.
(Madison, Ohio.)
Open thy soul windows up toward the sky; Catch the bright rays That fall from His presence who dwelleth on high, To gladden thy days; For Jesus the darkness will surely dispel, And loosen thy tongue the sweet story to tell Of his excellent ways.
Though narrow the pathway to God, it is plain: His footsteps are there. In cloud or in sunshine, in tempest and rain, He makes it all fair.
The smile of his presence is dearer to me Than all the world's jewels, from land or from sea, Though costly and rare.
