A friend of mine has been very long been in a dark and troubled state of soul. He has been, for some twenty or thirty years, trying to believe—in what, think you? In his own faith! Yes; he is trying to believe in his own faith, instead of believing in Jesus. Alas! what will this do for him? Does our faith contain our peace? Was faith crucified for us?
