To the Churches in Ohio.
By Ohio State Com.
BRO. VAN HORN has been called to Battle Creek on business preparatory to the Conference, and there is not money enough now in the Ohio State Treasury to pay him for services during the winter. We hope the churches will be prompt to forward to the Treasurer the sums now on hand. We shall do all that we possibly can to advance the cause in Ohio during the coming year, and trust we shall have the hearty co-operation of all the friends of the cause in the State. There are some scattered ones able to assist in this matter—men of means—who have done nothing for some time past. Now is a good time to come up to the work. Their gold and silver, lands and cattle, will not save them in “the day of the Lord’s anger.” May they feel the importance of making a “covenant with the Lord by sacrifice,” while it may be accepted at their hands. Brethren, remember what brought the curse upon Meroz, and “be zealous and repent.”
