The Pure in Heart.

HOW EXPRESSIVE is this short sentence. How clearly does it set forth what God requires. Inward purity can alone please God. He will have the heart pure, then all the acts will be right. The saints will not only be clothed with white raiment; they will be as pure within, as they are clean without. This great work must be completely wrought in us. We cannot be too much in earnest in promoting its accomplishment. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” This is equivalent to saying that those who are not such shall not see him.
