Prayer

When thou prayest for spiritual graces, let thy prayer be absolute; when for temporal blessings, add a clause of God's pleasure; in both with faith and humiliation: so shalt thou undoubtedly receive what thou desirest or more, or better. Never prayer rightly made was unheard; or heard ungranted.—Quarles.
