THE present is the best time to renew your subscription for 1881. We have taken the liberty to send three numbers of the present volume to those whose subscription closed with volume six, trusting that they desired the paper to continue, and would renew soon. Many are sending in their renewals, and there are many others we hope to hear from at once.
We dislike to drop any name from our lists, because old friends are sometimes offended. They do not realize that in dealing with five thousand names, our clerks cannot know who the persons are, but are obliged to follow general rules.
Many of our subscribers think that the prepay plan is the only honorable way to run a paper, and this is our opinion. Therefore, we shall continue no papers unpaid for, except by special request.
