Life is a Shadow

LILLIAN S. CONNERLY
MORNING dawn, then noonday heat, Evening shadows, rest in sleep; So the days pass, one by one, Hurrying ever faster on.
Life is like to one brief day. Youth, its morning, speeds away; Noontide, manhood, passes soon; Old age, evening, follows noon.
Fill each morn to evening hour With sweet thoughts and deeds, before Darkness falls, and sleep of death Palsies thought and takes the breath.
Cristobal, C. Z.
