An Error

By a slip of the pen, the writer was made to say last week in the talk on education that “four out of five of our children and youth of school age are yet in the secular schools.” I rejoice to say that that statement is not correct. It should have read “for every five of our children and youth of school age in our denominational schools, there are yet four in the secular schools.” To put it in an easier form to keep in mind, we may say nearly half of our children are still being educated for the world—not directly to help save the world. That is bad enough when we think of the salvation of our children and youth and of the needs of our growing work.
