LIFE AND HEALTH Offers Prizes of $15.00, $10.00, and $5.00 for the Three Best Articles On
“What I Know About Reducing the Cost of Living”
All manuscripts to be in the hands of the Editor on or before Sept. 1, 1913.

CONDITIONS OF CONTESTS

(1) Every participant must be a bona fide subscriber to LIFE AND HEALTH. See rates under cut.
(2) Articles must be between 500 and 1,500 words in length.
(3) Articles must be legibly written on one side of the paper only. Typewritten manuscripts preferred.
(4) Manuscripts must be sent in flat or folded—not rolled.
(5) Suitable photographs or drawings will receive due consideration in the awarding of prizes.
(6) The Editor reserves the right to reject any or all of the manuscripts. Those desiring return of manuscript, if rejected, should enclose postage for same.
(7) For the best article we will pay $15.00 in cash; for the second best $10.00; for the third best $5.00.
(8) For all other accepted articles we will pay the regular rate—one third of a cent per word.
(9) Payment for all articles will be made on date of publication in LIFE AND HEALTH.
