Korean Converts Give Up Tobacco and Liquor

SEOUL, KOREA.—Recently I received a letter from one of our native workers, who had been working a month about thirty miles south of Seoul. He says: “Twenty persons have now promised to become Christians, and nine have begun to keep the Sabbath. We have organized a missionary society of sixteen members. These members have decided to give up their tobacco and liquor, and to use the money thereby saved to buy literature for distribution among their friends and the people of this place.” His letter was accompanied by an order for several hundred tracts. The message is to the “highways and hedges.” We find that in all these places God has precious souls waiting for the message of truth. C. L. BUTTERFIELD.
