Looking to Us

On another page is a message to our South African brethren, sent from a Basutoland village: “We perish! Come to help us. We will listen to the voice of the Great Shepherd, and obey his commandments.” This is a type of the calls that are now coming to us from every continent. A tribe of Indians, that has never been visited by a white man, is calling to us from north of the Amazon, in South America, reporting that many of its members are keeping the Sabbath.
It is a pitifully urgent and yet a most thrilling situation in Asia and Africa and all the world. The fields are white unto harvest, and there is such a call for workers and for advance into yet untouched regions as we have never before known. The next great hope for missions, under the blessing of the Lord, is the coming midsummer offering, to be made made in all the churches on Sabbath, July 1. It is none too early to begin to plan for it and pray for it. The fields will watch anxiously for reports of that day’s service.
