Truth

GEORGE E. TACK

TRUTH dwells upon the eminence of light, Yea, up the smile-lit steeps of God, afar Beyond the utmost verge of sun and star That flash their cheery glances through the night. Truth reigns with God upon the thronèd height, Yet all may draw anear; the contrite heart Is dear to him who doth the light im- part, And he will make each darkened path- way bright.
Like Pilate, many query, “What is truth?” Yet linger not to find the holy ray. Though it seems far away, its voice is near, Its whispers thrill the hearts of age and youth As low it bends, and in the listening ear Proclaims, “I am the Truth, the Life, the Way.”
