THE DAY OF GOD.

BY E. L. WENTWORTH.
THE earth moves on her varied course, Day after day, year after year; And many say, "So shall it be," And yet the Day of God is near.
Our lives pass onward hour by hour, A sorrow there, a pleasure here; Some laugh and mock at Christ and His, And yet the Day of God is near,
They scorn His messages of love, His pleading calls not forth a tear; They follow their own wicked lusts, And yet the Day of God is near.
O, listen to the Saviour's call, And serve Him with a heart sincere; Eternal life shall soon be years, For hark! the Day of God is near.
