Good Word from California

A TELEGRAM just received from Elder J. O. Corliss, sent from Sacramento, Cal., gives us the following encouraging news: “Sunday amendment lost, fifty-six, twenty-four. Letter follows. Give thanks.” We rejoice at this another victory for the cause of truth in the State of California, and we hope that all our people throughout the country will not forget to “give thanks,” as Elder Corliss requests. The battle there has been a strenuous and determined one, but victory has again crowned the earnest efforts of our people to stem the tide of evil and oppression.
W. A. COLCORD,
Secretary Religious Liberty Bureau.
