Prayer Upon Entering the Sanctuary

THERE is a growing need for a new emphasis upon prayer on entering the sanctuary. About one in ten worshipers stops for prayer as he enters the church. The result is that 90 per cent of the attendants have to be jarred out of distinctly unchurchly attitudes at the opening of the service. It gives the service a bad start. If each worshiper, upon entering the church, would pause for a moment of prayer for the divine blessing upon the church, the service, the minister, and himself, he would create an inner attitude of receptivity that would revolutionize the service.—The Christian Advocate.
