EXPOSURE TO TUBERCULOSIS

“I have a boy seventeen months old. I live upstairs. The lady downstairs has tuberculosis. She is in bed, and on a complete rest. At times she plays with the little boy. She has him in her arms and kisses him on the cheek. Should we allow it?”
I do not think the boy should be allowed to go into that woman’s room or associate with her. I can appreciate that she may love children, but the best way to show her love is not to touch them or handle them, for it is dangerous for them.
If no other way can be found to protect the child or keep him out of that room or away from her, you had better move.
You do not want to hurt the woman’s feelings, but you must protect the child.
