This society met at Canaan, Jan. 19. As the going was very bad, but few of the members were present, and the meeting adjourned.
Met at Cornville, at call of chair, Jan. 26, at 1 P. M. Meeting opened by prayer and singing. Minutes of previous meeting were read and accepted, then the doings of present quarter were read, as follows:—
No. families visited, 600 “ letters written, 527 “ new subscribers, 61 “ pages tracts given away, 42569 “       ”       ” loaned, 4233 “ periodicals distributed, 1647 “ annuals sold, 277 “       ” given away, 513
Money rec’d from book sales, $49 35 “       ”       ” new subscribers, 52 50 “       ”       ” on one-third, 15 05 “       ”       ” on other donations, 15 28 “       ”       ” for membership, 4.00
Remarks were made by the president, upon the importance of distributing tracts, which added much to the interest of the meeting.
