Meetings in Oakland.

THE meetings in Oakland will begin April 18, and continue ten days, the annual meeting of the Publishing Association being April 28. We expect to have the best meeting that has ever been held in this city. Bible-readings, social meetings, missionary meetings, and preaching, will all come in, and the meetings cannot fail to be both interesting and profitable. In addition to those who have labored in the meetings in this State, Elders St. John and Loughborough will be here to assist in this.
We think that things in Oakland are in a better condition than they ever were before to insure a good meeting. Both in the church and out, the interest in the truth is unusually good. Last Sabbath the number attending Sabbath-school was larger than the whole number enrolled during the last quarter; and the number present at the ordinances was from twenty-five to thirty more than was ever before present at any similar meeting. The number of interested inquirers in this city was never so great as at present.
The church sends a cordial invitation for friends of the cause to come in and worship with us in the coming meeting. Steps will immediately be taken to provide accommodations for all who come. Especially is invitation given to those who intend to labor as colporters, canvassers for our publications, or in any other capacity in this work; also to the stockholders in the Publishing Association. Come, come early, and come to stay till the close.
