Sabbath-School Matters at Our Camp-Meeting.

AT our coming camp-meeting in Stockton, more attention will be paid to the Sabbath-school work than at any meeting we have yet held. The Conference Committee are systematizing the business of the Conference in such a way that it may be transacted with dispatch. It is the intention to have a great deal of time spent in instruction concerning doctrine, discipline, methods of work, etc. The Sabbath-school interest is second to none. It is growing in importance every year. Occasionally we hear of an individual who, like the pendulum in the fable, becomes wearied at the thought of the hard study that will be required on the lessons, regularly one week after another. But we trust that there are few who do not feel like taking hold of this work with all their might, to get good, and to do good to others.
We believe that our Sabbath-schools are the hope of our people. Most of our churches hear preaching only occasionally; but the Sabbath-school, if properly conducted, will go far to make up this deficiency, by developing workers in the church; and the lessons furnish material for enlivening the social meeting, and for thought during the week. We hope all our brethren and sisters will appreciate this work as they should, and will come to the meeting prepared to help others, and to receive all they can. If you have met with any difficulty, or are in perplexity about any point, whether of the lessons or the work of the class or school, bring your questions, and help will be given.
