Stoop Low

My soul, stoop low; The lowly things of earth Get most of heaven’s dew. Be humble; so The dignity of birth Falls on the few Who do attain to know Whence God’s pure fountains flow.
From nesting low, The lark will highest rise Exultant, to the sun. Soul, learn to know The glory of the skies Pride never won. The sweetest things hide low, Where dews of heaven glow.
— M. C. Moore.
