Revivals.

God's ministers should be the leaders in revivals of religion, and the first thing necessary is a closer, more thorough, more prayerful study of the Scriptures. This characterized all the revivals referred to in the Bible as they took place under the teachings of the prophets. Luther depended upon the word of God for truth, for defense, for the salvation of the people. The revival under the Wesleys and Whitfield was inspired and promoted by the study of the Scriptures. Neglect of the study of the Bible produces barrenness and spiritual dearth.—California Christian Advocate.
