The Gospel, God’s Power Unto Salvation

The gospel is “the power of God unto salvation.” This salvation is salvation from sin, which is “the transgression of the law.” The gospel is therefore God’s provision to save us from transgressing His law. This is accomplished by filling us with the life and power of His own word, the only medicine of any value. “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” Prov. 4: 20–22. This is the one remedy for the one disease.
