A Revolution in Our Whole System of Life
By Mary Henry Rossiter
BEFORE we can have genuine progress in the temperance or in any other reform, we must have a thoroughgoing revolution in our whole system of life. We must look at life differently; we must think of our bodies differently; we must eat and drink and dress and sleep, we must work, and we must play, with a different conscious, as well as subconscious, purpose. Not that the purpose of living, of eating and dressing and drinking, of working and playing, should occupy an irritating and solemn prominence in all that we do; that it should occupy any prominence; that we should even be aware of its existence. But it should be there, as the heart is in the body, pumping pure blood and imparting true energy to every muscle and every nerve. MARY HENRY ROSSITER.
