Eastern Snowstorms and California Weather

As we go to press, dispatches from the East report heavy snow-storms, and very cold weather. In some cases mails are delayed twenty-four hours. In Buffalo, N. Y., the wind attained a velocity of seventy-two miles an hour, and the thermometer fell twenty degrees. The weather in California just now is in marked contrast with that experienced in the East. We prefer the pleasant, balmy air of the Pacific Coast to the rigors of an Eastern winter.
