Great Britain’s Crop Losses

GREAT BRITAIN laments the loss of 25 per cent of her wheat crop, 50 to 75 per cent of her potato crop, the money value of which is recorded at $180,000,000, while the deadly foot and mouth disease has depleted the barn-yards of $50,000,000 more, and the dreaded rinderpest causes the greatest anxiety for what is left. This therefore means poverty, if not starvation, to many.—N. Y. Tribune.
