THERE IS NO OBJECT UNWORTHY OF OUR NOTICE.

“While I am reading,” says a careful student of natural history, “a fly settles on my hand; I don’t kill it; I watch it, with a glass perhaps, and see it clean its wings and its head, and make friends with it, till I feel that I can speak to that fly; and so it is with everything living. If we will humble ourselves and condescend to look at the apparently lowest creatures, we shall find instruction in the meanest of them.”
