HOPE

Hope is an anchor of the soul, And one that cannot fail, If fixed on Him who ministereth For us within the vail.
Hope burneth like a beacon bright When darkness gathereth round; 'T will guide our bark to Zion's port; Oh! then, let hope abound.
E'en in the gloomy hour of death The righteous hopeth still; He who hath said, Your graves I'll ope, That promise will fulfill.
So looking for that blessed hope, And for our coming Lord, We feast upon the promises Recorded in his word.
Then, O my soul, hope thou in God; For he thy portion is; A rock of refuge will he be, To all them that are his.
