Colossians 2 and the Sabbath Question

If Col. 2:14-17, — “Blotting out the hand-writing,” &c., refers at all to the weekly Sabbath, it proves that it has been blotted out, and hence we have no Sabbath. Yet those who teach that the fourth commandment is perpetually binding, and that the keeping of the first day of the week is obedience to it, will quote this text to prove that they ought not to keep the day specified in the commandment, the seventh day! How logical the conclusion! How well fitted are men of such depth of intellect to be the leaders of the enlightened Christians of the nineteenth century! R. F. C.
