KENTUCKY

I commenced lecturing at Bear Wallow on the evening of the 4th inst. I have now given five discourses. I never had a better interest nor better attention. Harvest is over, and now we can get a hearing from the country. It is a Disciple neighborhood, and they would not consent to have me preach in the tent, but insisted that I must accept of their house of worship. They said I should have it unmolested as long as I wanted it. I am alone, have no tent master even; so I take my family along to assist what they can. We live in our tent, which we pitched close by the meeting-house. It reminds us of the way Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob used to live. The meeting-house is commodious and airy.
I look for some success here, if we do our duty. The preachers are being stirred some on the kingdom question. My prayer is that God may help us, and that this meeting may be a success. Pray for the cause here. S. OSBORN. Bear Wallow, Hart Co., Ky., Aug. 9.
