Acquaint Ourselves With God

“God commands us to acquaint ourselves with Him that we may be at peace, and that good may come to us. He is ever so intent upon making himself known to us that He reasons and persuades, He entreats and implores, He wearies himself with spreading out His hand all the day in the attitude of a loving and compassionate father, inviting and alluring a reluctant child to His arms. In all the works of His hands, . . . by every influence of His Spirit upon the hearts of men, He is declaring His creative power, His unsearchable wisdom, His everlasting love.”
